I am in Iowa City, Iowa working for the Edwards campaign for the caucus coming up on Thursday. As you can imagine, it's getting pretty intense out here (not to mention freaking cold), and I've heard some pretty ludacris stories of dirty politicking. Interestingly, most of the stories I've heard involve the Clinton campaign (although I've heard some disgruntling stories involving Obama, as well).

As if we didn't see it coming. GOP Senators and President Bush have been threatening to kill the energy bill even before it passed through the House last week, and this morning the Senate failed to invoke cloture on the bill by a vote of 59-40. As usual, Congress isn't trying hard enough. NY Times

Did anyone read Thomas Friedman's Op-Ed piece today, "Generation Q"? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/10/opinion/10friedman.html?ref=opinion
After reading the first paragraph, I was expecting the article to anger me with the usual banter- the youth are too disengaged, apathetic, etc.
Instead, Thomas Friedman gently slapped me in the face.

So you want to make a difference/end the war/be an activist? Here's how.
