My Chargers won today, we're going up against the Patriots on Sunday. Pissed off CBS bad, I bet; they wanted Colts-Pats cause that would have been huge ratings. HA
Anyway, I was poking around the site and decided to change the blogs system. I think you'll like this. When you go to the Soapbox and look at the description, it's gonna say:
A blog is a bunch of words with a point. All blogs go to the Soapbox. If you want it to be on the front page, leave a comment at the bottom or your post saying so. If a registered user seconds it (gives it a 2 or a 4), it goes to the front page.
Good change, right?
So how it works is, you post a blog, and leave 1 comment at the bottom if you want it on the front page. If another LtL'er rates your blog a 4 or a 2, that means it'll move on to the front page.
(Congratulations, you win a cookie.)
However, it should be noted that we don't have the gizmos to promote it automatically; instead, an admin will see it and do it manually. Also, it might be a good idea to make it 2 members rating.
This gives give LtL members democratic control over the front page. The rating system now has significance. Each member has frontpaging power. My only recommendation is to take into consideration that a neat front page attracts a bigger audience. But it's also great to give visibility to issues. But then again, whenever you choose to promote one blog, you push another one down the page. Oh, the dilemma...
I consider this is a somewhat large improvement over the old system, which sucked majorly. If there are any disagreements, please be vocal.
Anyway, let's do this for a little while and if it works, it'll be sweet. If it flops or trolls overpower it, whatever. We can always just change the system. If only fixing the government could be like that...
UPDATE 3.3.08
As the site's been mouse-quiet lately, no one's used this yet but consider it still in effect if you'd like to take advantage of it.

I like the system, it's a great idea to have a democratic control for the site.
Oh, and, the Pats are going to crush your boys... by the way. Brady to Moss, for, well, just about anything they want.
Peace, love, and a hellacious asswhupping coming down the pike,
Joe!
true, Brady to Moss happens
true, Brady to Moss happens a lot, but so does Manning to Wayne and we all know how that turned out. as far as I'm concerned, the pressure's on yall. the Chargers do best when everyone says they're fucked, so please do bring on the hate.
glad you like the system. I figure we'll ease into it the next few days.
