Wandering Around GOP.com

I was looking at my PureVolume page last night and looked up at the top and saw a banner ad for the GOP. It showed the faces of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy circled and crossed out by a thick red line. The text read: “SUPPORT THE GOP. CLICK HERE.” Being a passionate GOP supporter, I clicked, and it took me to a fundraising form for the Republican National Committee.

Democrats and left-wing special interest groups are raising hundreds of millions of dollars to put a Liberal in the White House and expand their majorities in Congress.

The fight to stop the Liberals starts here. The Republican National Committee is the official national campaign organization of the Republican Party

Complete the information below to make a secure online contribution to support Republican National Committee's efforts today.

Since I wasn’t in a giving mood but still curious about what my party is fighting for lately, I clicked over to GOP.com

First thing I saw was a huge picture of Hillary Clinton on the front page. It was a close-up shot of her at a speech; her skin looks pale, her eyes reddish and distant, her facial expression confused. She’s gesticulating, so her hand appears (blurred) in the foreground, bony fingers and her wedding ring plainly visible. Next to her in large CAPS is the headline “CLINTON’S FAILING FISCAL PLAN”. The layout nerd in me liked how the text changes from white at the top to purple at the bottom, drawing a parallel to Hillary’s pale face and purple shirt.

Then I checked out their blog. On the left side, they have a pull down menu for topics. Click it and about 30 issues, people and demographics show up. Stuff like “Education”, “Laura Bush”, “Asian-Americans”, “War on Terror”, etc. Interestingly, “Iraq” wasn’t on the list. However, there was “Good news from Iraq”. I clicked it, but it led to an empty page.

I wandered around some more and ended up in the GOP store. The first thing you see is an elephant stuffed animal with a GOP logo on its chest. You can own it for $35.

Meet Max the elephant, a wonderful plush toy. He proudly sports his Republican colors with the official Republican National Committee logo. Bring Max home as a gift for your favorite Republican, child or grandchild, or to display in your own office. Actual size 5" x 4"

Because doesn’t every kid wish his toys were more partisan?

//Anyway, not posting this for any particular reason besides I thought it was interesting. I'd recommend exploring it yourself sometime. You can learn a lot about the happs in conservative ideology, what kind of information they're getting... helps explain why they do what they do, you know?
