Is it just me, or are Facebook applications going the way of email chain-letters? Some of the stuff is useful, or intriguing, but I really have no desire to add "bumper stickers", or Vampires vs. Zombies, or a Super Wall. The wall I have right now is satisfactory, thank you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an early bird special to get to before my canasta game.

Also, I bought a new MP3 player today, and it isn't an iPod. I'll have more as to why this is a big deal in terms of free speech and copyright tomorrow.

you damn kids and your rap music.

i don't really mind other people having them, and i don't by any means hate the concept. it's just when i look at someone's profile and see flashing lights and bloated blocks, my sense of minimalism and clean lines goes all twitchy and stabby. you gotta admit, some of that stuff looks like utter crap.

Seriously, they're gross.

Seriously, they're gross. I've got Free Gifts (who doesn't like presents?), Greenbook (woo saving the enviornment!), and the Last.fm application. I do think that the applications for a cause are interesting, like Greenbook or the Pink Ribbon app. There are others that display your candidate for the '08 election, your political leaning, or your causes. Still a bit of an eyesore, but at least it means something.

I wonder if we could use this...

i agree. the best apps are the functional ones -- my current favorite is the twitter app.

regarding facebook apps: i've thought about it. i haven't really done much else with it, because we're still trying to nail down a bunch of functionality. once we establish our front page flow and projects mechanisms, all i have to do is install a drupal module and we can have facebook apps that draw from this site.

here's a question: what would you want to see as a LtL facebook app?
