Joseph Biden lays the smackdown re: Bush and Iran. Quote:
"Are you telling me a president that's briefed every single morning, who's fixated on Iran, is not told back in August that the tentative conclusion of 16 intelligence agencies in the U.S. government said they had abandoned their effort for a nuclear weapon in '03?" Biden asked in a conference call with reporters.
"I refuse to believe that," he added. "If that's true, he has the most incompetent staff in modern American history, and he's one of the most incompetent presidents in modern American history."
Duhh, but it's nice to hear it from a Senator and presidential candidate.

Freedom Requires Religion?????????
Earlier today, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney gave what the media is calling a major speech. He voiced a lot of far out opinions geared for high powered pandering to the religious conservatives who've been jumping on the Huckabee bandwagon. So given the stakes and his target audience, it's no surprise that he said some stuff that has seculars all over the country rolling their eyes. This remark in particular:
"Freedom requires religion, just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone," he said.

- When I saw the headline, "MySpace, MTV team on politics" I immediately cringed, but maybe it's not that bad. They're going to host presidential dialogues, kind of like the YouTube debate except not really 'debates' so much as just conversations. Interesting. Also interesting, the article mentioned that "MTV is developing a social networking website that focuses on youth activism."
- Speaking of YouTube, they're going to start adding ads to videos now.
- For Peruvian earthquake victims, cans of tuna with Hugo Chavez's face on them. Man, never gonna miss a propaganda opportunity...
- They're going to need to come up with an international water deal for Iraq and surrounding countries. This is a possible future source of conflict. In other Iraq news, 15 women and children were kidnapped by al Queda and aid workers say they're having a harder time delivering aid.
- Mitt Romney is an idiot.
- Women still get paid less.
